Relationships Begin With Welcome
The thing that launched Ministry Blueprints was seeing the need for welcome, hospitality, and engagement in faith communities. Too often churches had mission or vision statements that included the words all are welcome or everyone is welcome, yet the experience of members or visitors was nowhere near that.
We wondered what it would take to create a community that really lived up to the idea of welcome, hospitality, generosity, abundance or belonging.
What would it take to call a church “home”?
It happens all the time and there are engaged people in every community - but how do we create that experience for everyone?
It begins with people, relationships, and asking everyone to welcome, invite and offer hospitality. This week we are launching a project that we hope will serve parishes during this unusual time - The Blueprint for Hospitality. Our hope is to accompany you during this time of social distancing, to find ways to extend hospitality, welcome, and invitation in simple creative and joyful ways.
We know it’s not business as usual in our parishes and communities. You’ve just begun fall programming and are feeling overwhelmed, weary and worried and hopefully a wee bit excited. We want to to walk along side you to offer a monthly learning session for staff, ministry leaders, parishioners, and volunteers that will dive into all the ways hospitality and welcome can transform us, our ministries, our parishes and our communities.
We know that our families are struggling with school, work finances and the constant Covid fatigue. One of the best ways to reach people right now is through personal connection, relationship building, extending hospitality. We want to equip you now for this coming year and to be ready for what comes after. Your ministry is so important right now and we want to team up with you this year to make sure you are affirmed and encouraged, but also that you have creative ideas on how to reach your people in ways that will surprise, delight, and engage!
Join us this Thursday, October 15th at 11:00am CT and invite your team, staff or volunteers to join as well. This week is all about relationships - there will be door prizes, digital downloads and a lovely Field Book to follow along. We’ll be busy on Facebook and Instagram this week so look for more information there - or you can always email, call, or text.
See you Thursday,
Jane
